FAQS on Atlantic Division Webinars

bulletCan I use Voice Over IP (VOIP) to play the audio?

Yes, VOIP is available for use.

bulletIs there an 800 number dial-in for the conference part of the presentation?

We have looked into a reasonably priced 800 number service and have not found anything that will work.  The first webinar that we held on February 16th would have cost us almost $3,000- for a toll-free number for participants.  There is a device called MagicJack that permits you to use your telephone on a USB device for your computer that allows you to call anywhere in the US and Canada for only $20.00 per year.  The device is $20.00.  (first year charges of $40.00 pay for the device and your first year's calling costs.)  Their website is: www.magicjack.com .  This device allowed me to connect to the teleconference without any additional charges.

bulletCan we use streaming audio over the web instead of dialing in.?

Currently that is not available using the hosting software we are using.  It is an area we are reviewing to see how we can provide this.

bulletWill copies of the presentation be made available after the webinar?

Yes.  A DVD of each presentation is expected to be made available for a nominal cost of $5.00 plus shipping for those who were unable to attend the webinar and would like to take advantage of the presentation, and for those who did participated and would like to have a copy for future use.  DVDs of  presentations can be ordered from the Training page of this site and payment made through a secured PayPal payment site using your credit card or debit card.  PayPal members can also use their PayPal accounts to make payment.

bulletAre these webinars for only for members of the ARRL Atlantic Division?

Unless the invitation shows that the webinar is restricted in some form, these presentation are open to any interested person.  Additionally, we are working with several other ARRL Division Directors for jointly sponsored presentations.
