NBEMS Net Operations The
Narrow Band Emergency Message System (NBEMS) software is primarily
designed for manned operations. In any emergency communications nets
(phone, CW or digital), the Net Control Station (NCS) plays a critical
role in maintaining order and prioritizing and directing the flow of
traffic.
In the NBEMS Net webinar, we will discuss some
of the challenges that are common to all NCS operations, regardless of
modes, and some of the specific challenges that are unique to the NBEMS
digital nets.
The presentation will start with a short
PowerPoint presentation followed by a live, on-the-air NBEMS net
simulation.

two-part webinar discussion on D-STAR technology and its application to
emergency communications (EMCOMM).

Antenna Ordinance, You and the ARRL ARRL West

NBEMS Digital Mode - Basic and Advanced Training
This NBEMS webinar will cover advanced
features such as the use of NBEMS FLWRAP and FLMSG for the use of

for a tax exempt non-profit status; how to file and how to keep your
status good once having been issued your tax exempt status.

How to Incorporate Net Control Operations into NIMS
This presentation will show you how to incorporate net control
operations into the National Incident Management System.
The Amateur Radio community in the National Capital Region has been
supporting the Marine Corps Marathon for over 32 years, providing over
100 Amateur Radio operators, four voice nets, and two digital nets.
This year the net control operations are being brought more in line with
the National Incident Management System, utilizing the NIMS job
descriptions for an Incident Communications Center Manager and utilizing
the Resource Unit Leader position to track the status of the Amateur
Radio operators.

Commercialization of Amateur Radio
On Friday, September 25, the ARRL Board of Directors
adopted guidelines on the appropriate use of Amateur Radio on behalf of
commercial, non-profit and government entities, as well as
recommendations for additional steps to be taken by the ARRL to educate
radio amateurs and others on how to prepare and train for public service
and emergency communications while complying with the current FCC Rules.
